Kuala Selangor

We took a leisure drive towards the west coast to a place by the estuary of the Selangor river called Kuala Selangor.

*sniff! sniff* What's that smell? Hey, can we give the moo-moos a ride too.

We arrived at a small fishing village by the name of Pasir Penambang...

... which has a beautiful temple located at the entrance to the village.

One of the cottage industries in this village is fish crackers, where it is common to see rows of carefully arranged fish cracker slices...

... basking under the hot afternoon sun for the drying process.

The river offers a panorama view of a the fishing village...

... with dwellings perched steadily on elongated wooden stilts along the river...

... and the sight of numerous sampans (wooden row boats) lining up the river banks.

Sniffing my way along the makeshift platform that runs through the village...

... and out to the jetty where the boats dock.

I saw a little black dog below...

... probably scavenging for food along the river bank.

We had an interesting walkie around this quaintly settlement by the river...

... and I had such a busy time checking out the smells with much curiosity...

... and enjoyed the picturesque views of this place that has a backwater tranquility to it.

Life here is quiet and peaceful...

... but the peace was broken by a pack of dogs that kept barking at me from afar.

Village locals checking on their boats...

... and monkeys checking around for food. Mother and baby here are called silverleaf monkeys...

... and this one here is of the MacGyver specie, pictured here trying to figure out how to fix the light bulb atop the sign.

As the sun set, the hoomans had a sumptuous seafood dinner along the river bank whilst I waited in the pei mobile... *sigh!* life's unfair.

Your humans are so great, Hero. They make sure you get to see interesting things all the time. Even if they did leave you in the Peimobile while they went to dine, which was all wrong, of course. That's one thing that sounds so great about France. Dogs are allowed into restaurants. I do hope they brought you out something delicious.
