My Hooman's Helper

This is Roomba... that scared the shit out of me on our first encounter.

But we're good now... and its unannounced cleaning schedule does not freak me out anymore.

Besides keeping me company when the hoomans are out, Roomba does help a lot around the house.

This little fella dutifully suck up all my daily shedding on the floor...

... thus keeping the floor free of fur, sand and everything else that apparently is 'contributed' by me, meh!

I hear a sound... someone's at the gate.

It's koko and cheche coming home... oh btw, that's T-Dog basking under the sunbeam by the glass.

With a wagging tail, I always greet cheche and koko at the door with wet licks... coz that's the favourite part of my day.

Note from the hooman: Some readers have asked about the effectiveness of Roomba in the earlier post. After using Roomba for 4 months, the verdict is that this little vacuuming robot does help in sweeping the endless dropping of furs and other particles courtesy of our dearest pei. However, the effectiveness also depends on the 'terrain' i.e. not too many furnitures and wires, which can hinder its movements as the software algorithmic may not calculate the coverage correctly.

I love the pics! ive been thinking about getting one of these for my floors - I have 1500sqft of wood floors and with 2 hairy beasts that is alot of sweeping daily I have to do.

Thanks for your personal insight on the roomba.

We get a lot of "daily tumbleweed" from the dogs' hair, so this does look nice. It's good to see you're not afraid of it anymore.

Still looks like an evil robotic monster to me. But then, I don't shed, so maybe it's not so evil to the shedders of the world (I have to go to the groomer, instead...)... Great photos!

Yuh, we tried one of those, but sent it back. It got too confused by our house. Not to mention that the labrafurs totally clogged it up. Glad it is working out for you.

We would not be happy at all if that thing came to life in our house! Holy crap! I'm glad it works well for you, though. Mom says we have too many wires and stuff on the floor. Whew!

I'm so sorry we missed you that day at Fukuharu :) We would have so loved to see you and Eva swimming together!!!

Your Roomba sounds like the guy for the job. Glad you and him are getting along well.

No wonder you can stay at home, with the help of Roomba huh? I guess if me and Benji stay in the house without it, mummy's house will be full of our shedding (and paw prints)!

pee s -- asa always gets to sleep with mama and daddy! i got banished to the laundry room cuz mama said i kept tryin' to disturb asa at like 4am. i just wanted to play...is that so bad?! when daddy's gone, though, mama will let me sleep in the big bed with her and asa cuz there's extra room, but if i get to rowdy, she makes me go back to my bed in the laundry room.

Glad to hear that you are super brave with Mr Roomba. I don't think us doggies would like him very much. I think Bailey Dog would eat him for lunch if he chased him under the bed.

oh my. what a clever thing. you're obviously a good boy, hero! i don't think my humans could get one because i would surely eat it and spit it out and then the vacuum cleaner would have to clean up the mess.

Hi Hero,

Now how cool is that? We luv it and we want mommy to get us a couple of those so we can sit on top of them and go for rides around the house!

We think that's what they are really made for don't you?

Thanks for sharing!

Luv,
Riley and Star.
