Plantation Walkie
For a change in surrounding, I get to go for a walk in a plantation located a short distance from town.
Here I'm checking for peemails at the palm tree plantation. The smell of a plantation is very different from a park though...
... as there is an outdoor wilderness feel to it coupled with the reverberating sound of insects.
Leaving my peemail for the creatures of the night to read.
This is a vast plantation planted with rubber trees...
... where incisions are made orthogonally to the bark of the tree and the fresh flowing sap is collected in a cup and once exposed to air, becomes coagulated latex.
We had a long but fun walkie exploring the plantation...
... and also not to mention the endless sniffpedition under those rubber trees.
Hey what are you doing up there?
I wanna join you too!
Nice view of the surroundings...
... I can see the distance terrain from here.
Hey wait up!
Let's scout around, maybe we may bum into some interesting animals from the forest...
... or maybe a little tiger pup to play with me.
Late Supper Drive-thru
I love it when we get to go on the occasional midnight snack round the neighborhood.
*sniff! sniff!* Did you get my favorite meal?
Hurry up, will ya! Let's dig in.
Hey, that's not what I want. Where's my treat?
Oh yes! That's my favorite one, chicken nuggets.
Nom... nom... nom.
What's this? I smell sweet dessert.
Can I have a bite of the pie...
... before my slobber floods the pei mobile.
A Dip in the Lake
Making our way to the park for a walk.
We reached a lake at the far end of the park...
... and the water looks very inviting for a refreshing dip.
I did some sniffpedition around the lake...
... and then towards the water.
Hmmm, contemplating whether to go into the water or not.
Oh well, what the heck, a cool dip is all I need now.
Brrr... the water is cold and...
... I don't think there's any seafood snack here either.
Okay, that's enough of dipping, before my wrinkly self becomes a prune pei.
Shaking myself dry... come close at your own risk.
Ahhh, now I'm feeling so refreshed.
We spent the rest of the day chilling out at the lake...
... enjoying the serenity and reflecting on life.
My Date Night
The lovely wiener in Kansas City, Twix, will be hosting a date night for all our furiends in the DWB blogosphere. I'm so excited about date night and the fact that I'm going with Twix, makes my little pei heart goes a flutter. There was a little anxious moment when news of date night going to be postponed due to Twix's mom having some pooter problem, but it turned out to be a false alarm, thanks to Twix for saving the day... phew. Now that date night is on, this is going to be one pawsome pawty. Don't miss out and see you there!
Penang Island
We took a road trip to the sunny island of Penang.
Here we are crossing the Penang Bridge, which is among the longest bridges in the world...
... and I'm enjoying the view from the comfort of the pei mobile.
Finally we arrived at town after a 4 hours drive...
... and I wasted no time in checking for pee-mails.
What's that sound? I can't see...
... this is a much better view... it's a beach! Let's check it out.
We walked along the beach...
... and felt the salty sea breeze against my wrinkly face.
I saw a funny looking thingy...
... that hoomans used to play zoomies on the water...
... and a weird looking thingy...
... that hoomans used to play zoomies in the air.
I only like my zoomies on the land.
After a long day, we checked in to our apartment.
I was so dog-tired, I passed out the moment I hit the bed and slept like a log.
The next morning, we went for a walk on top of Penang hill...
... for some fresh morning air and lovely sunshine.
... which is the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia.
We also visited Fort Cornwallis, a fortress completed in 1810 as a defense against the Jack Sparrows of yesteryears.
We hit the beach again for some casual gallivanting...
... and some interesting sniffpedition.
Koko said something about another Miami beach in my faraway furiends country...
... but I did not pay much attention...
... as I saw something fun.
Something I can climb on...
... and jump about too.
I love playing on these huge rocks.
Later in the day, we went for a walkie along the marina...
... which overlook across the Penang bridge.
On our way back, we did not use the bridge to cross over to mainland...
... instead we used the ferry service at Weld Quay.
The ferry ride was an interesting one with the smell of diesel that permeates from the engine room, the sound of sea waves crashing alongside the ferry...
... and the sight of cars queuing to disembark.
On the trip back in the pei mobile, I was mostly in dreamland.
